On Tuesday, Ahmed Lamlas, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, held a meeting with local executive authorities and community committees. The discussion focused on reviewing and evaluating the ongoing price control campaign across the districts. The meeting aimed to assess the compliance of commercial establishments with fair pricing, especially following the recent improvement in the local currency exchange rate.
Governor Lamlas stressed the need for intensified efforts and enhanced field monitoring of all commercial establishments without exception. He called for complete coordination between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and police forces in the districts. This collaboration must adhere to legal procedures to ensure its effectiveness. Lamlas also emphasized that military intervention from outside the security committee of the governorate would not be tolerated.
The primary goal of the price control campaign is to protect citizens from monopolistic practices and price manipulation. Lamlas highlighted the importance of alleviating the financial burdens that have weighed heavily on the community. He reaffirmed the local authority’s commitment to enforcing regulations firmly to uphold the principles of law and order.
The ongoing efforts in Aden reflect a proactive approach to economic stability and consumer protection. The local government remains dedicated to ensuring fair pricing and safeguarding the interests of its citizens.
