A Focus on Cleanliness Initiatives

Today, Abdulrahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, met with the Board of Directors of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund. The discussion centered on the ongoing efforts to enhance public cleanliness and improve the institutional performance of the fund.

During the meeting, which included Deputy Governors Mohammed Nasr Al-Shadhili and Engineer Adnan Al-Kaf, Sheikh emphasized the importance of optimizing available revenues. He urged the proper allocation of these funds to develop operations and elevate cleanliness services across all districts of Aden. Furthermore, he stressed the need to expand cleanliness efforts to cover main, secondary, and back streets. This initiative aims to enhance the urban appearance of Aden and safeguard public health and the environment.

Electricity Service Evaluation

In a separate meeting, Sheikh engaged with Engineer Salem Al-Walidi, the General Director of the Electricity Corporation in Aden. They discussed the overall status of electricity services, assessing available generation capacity, operational programs, and key technical challenges. Among these challenges, fuel issues significantly impact service stability.

The governor listened to the corporation’s preparations for the summer of 2026, evaluating the performance of transmission and distribution networks. They also addressed strategies for handling outages and recurring interruptions. Sheikh underscored the importance of enhancing the readiness of emergency and maintenance teams to ensure quick responses and minimize downtime.

Commitment to Service Improvement

Sheikh reiterated that local authorities prioritize service sectors. The government aims to boost institutional efficiency and improve service quality, alleviating citizens’ hardships and reinforcing service stability in the temporary capital of Aden.

This proactive approach reflects the commitment of the Aden government to enhance living conditions and ensure reliable public services for its residents.
