The Security Committee in Sana’a Province convened today under the leadership of Governor Major General Abdulqawi Sharif. The meeting focused on recent security and military developments, assessing combat readiness, and enhancing coordination among various military and security units to align with current demands and directives from political and military leadership.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the evolving field conditions and discussed measures to enhance combat and security readiness. They emphasized the importance of improving coordination among military formations and security agencies. The committee also evaluated deployment plans and response strategies, ensuring units are prepared to execute any tasks or directives from political and military leaders. This approach aims to safeguard national security and restore state institutions.
The Security Committee expressed its unwavering support for the statements made by President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council. The committee endorsed the decisions and actions approved by the National Defense Council, affirming their solidarity with political leadership in all steps taken to protect the sovereignty of the Republic and restore state institutions while ending the Houthi coup.
Governor Sharif stressed that the current phase demands the highest levels of vigilance and preparedness. He urged an increase in combat and security readiness, along with improved discipline and coordination among units. The goal is to fully prepare for the directives from political and military leadership, aligning with the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore the state and establish security and stability.
He highlighted that Sana’a Province serves as a strategic depth for the capital, with its residents historically at the forefront of defending the Republic. The governor reaffirmed that the province will remain a crucial pillar in the battle to restore the state and end the coup.
The governor addressed tribal leaders and elders in Sana’a Province, urging them to protect their youth and resist the recruitment campaigns imposed by the Houthi militia. He emphasized that the state has exhausted all opportunities for peace, while the militia continues to escalate tensions and align its decisions with Iranian agendas.
The Security Committee strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its threats to international navigation in the Red Sea. They regarded these actions as a direct threat to Yemen’s security and the region, a violation of international law, and detrimental to the economic interests of the Yemeni people.
The committee expressed gratitude for the supportive stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Coalition for Legitimacy. They acknowledged that the political, military, economic, and humanitarian support from these allies has been and continues to be a fundamental pillar in assisting the Yemeni state and restoring its institutions.
The Security Committee confirmed the approval of several programs and plans aimed at bolstering military and security readiness in the upcoming phase. They intend to enhance the capabilities of various units and leverage the expertise of military and security leaders. This strategy ensures full preparedness to address diverse challenges and execute national tasks efficiently. The committee emphasized that all agencies will remain on high alert to defend the Republic and protect national security until the state is restored and the coup is ended.
