Gold prices experienced a notable decline today, influenced by a strengthening dollar. This drop affected both spot transactions and futures contracts, placing additional pressure on precious metal markets.
In spot trading, gold fell by 0.7%, reaching $4,044.81 per ounce. This decline follows a nearly 1% gain in the previous session. Additionally, U.S. gold futures for August delivery dropped by 0.8%, settling at $4,045.40.
This downturn coincides with a global rise in the dollar, which typically exerts downward pressure on gold and other metals. As a result, the appeal of these investments diminishes for investors.
