The Security Committee in Marib has reiterated its commitment to pursuing individuals who violate laws and engage in criminal activities, including robbery and extortion of travelers. The committee emphasized that it will take all necessary legal actions to apprehend these offenders, including issuing alerts at all land, air, and sea entry points.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the committee reported ongoing criminal activities by disruptive elements targeting travelers on the international route between Marib and Hadramout. These actions have included murder and armed robbery. Recently, a tragic incident occurred involving an attack on a vehicle known as "Dina," resulting in the death of its driver and injuries to a passenger. Additionally, another driver of a truck was killed, and members of the protection team assigned to escort fuel transporters were also attacked.
The Security Committee assured the public that all security agencies and armed forces remain steadfast in their constitutional and legal duties. Their primary focus is to protect vital facilities, public interests, and ensure the safety of citizens and travelers alike.
The committee emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards any actions that threaten public and private interests. It will not allow any attempts to undermine the reputation of Marib or its leaders, tribes, and honorable residents. The committee vowed to respond decisively to any acts of sabotage or attempts to spread chaos, particularly those that serve the interests of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia and other terrorist groups.
In its statement, the Security Committee urged anyone claiming to have grievances or demands to pursue legitimate and official channels. It stressed that just causes do not justify infringing on the rights of citizens or violating their interests. The committee warned that chaos and destruction would only lead to dire consequences for those who engage in or support such actions.
