On Sunday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, received Dr. Emrullah Isler, the Turkish Ambassador to Yemen. This meeting underscored the strong ties between Yemen and Turkey.
During the meeting, Ambassador Isler conveyed warm greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He expressed wishes for President Alimi’s good health and happiness, as well as for the Yemeni government and people to experience security, stability, and peace.
In response, President Alimi asked Ambassador Isler to extend his greetings to President Erdogan. He wished the Turkish leader good health and prosperity for the Turkish people. The discussion focused on enhancing and developing the distinguished relations between the two nations, as well as addressing local and regional developments and mutual interests.
President Alimi praised the long-standing bilateral relations between Yemen and Turkey across various levels. He highlighted Turkey’s supportive stance towards the Yemeni people and their political leadership. The President also acknowledged Turkey’s humanitarian interventions, which significantly alleviate the suffering in Yemen.
Furthermore, President Alimi expressed gratitude on behalf of Yemen’s leadership, government, and people for the facilities provided to the Yemeni community in Turkey. He specifically mentioned the hosting of thousands of Yemenis seeking refuge from the violence of Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime.
Ambassador Isler reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He expressed Ankara’s eagerness for broader cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The meeting also included Dr. Yahya Al-Shaibi, the Director of the Presidential Office, who contributed to the discussions.
This meeting highlights the ongoing commitment of both nations to strengthen their partnership and address shared challenges.
