Al-Saleh Babakr Charity Hospital recently wrapped up its second pediatric surgery camp, supported by the Sila Development Foundation. This initiative aimed to provide essential surgical care for children in the region.
During the seven-day camp, medical professionals performed 93 complex and successful surgeries. The procedures included repairs for inguinal and umbilical hernias, surgeries for undescended testicles, and corrections of congenital malformations. Additionally, the team addressed cases involving pediatric tumors, gallbladder and pancreatic cysts, as well as lipomas.
Dr. Talal bin Mansour, the hospital’s director, reported that the camp received approximately 145 cases. He emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader series of charitable medical camps organized by the hospital. These camps aim to enhance healthcare services for children and implement sustainable health programs that benefit the community.
The success of this pediatric surgery camp underscores the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare access and quality for children in Hadramout. The ongoing support from organizations like the Sila Development Foundation plays a crucial role in these efforts.
