On Wednesday, Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Brek convened a significant military meeting in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen. The meeting included Chief of Staff and Joint Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Sagheer bin Aziz, along with several heads of departments from the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, attendees discussed the latest developments on the front lines against the Iranian-backed Houthi militias. They assessed the combat readiness of the armed forces to deter any threats. Additionally, they reviewed financial, logistical, and administrative needs to enhance military performance and improve the conditions of its personnel.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister conveyed greetings from President of the Presidential Leadership Council and its members. He emphasized the government’s top priority in supporting military and security institutions, viewing them as the nation’s safeguard in the fight for the revolution and the republican system. He reiterated the commitment to meet the needs of the army and fighters stationed across various fronts.
The Prime Minister stated, “We are engaged in a just national battle, not only to liberate our land but also to protect the future of Yemen and the region from a destructive sectarian agenda. The Houthi militias aim to turn Yemen into a threat to its neighbors and to international navigation and Arab national security.”
He stressed the importance of intensifying military training programs and improving the capabilities of leaders and personnel to meet battlefield challenges. The Prime Minister assured that the government would coordinate with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff to overcome any obstacles facing fighters on the front lines.
The Prime Minister expressed high appreciation for the sacrifices made by the armed forces and popular resistance across various fronts. He affirmed that honoring the blood of martyrs requires doubling efforts and working tirelessly until victory is achieved, restoring the state, and ending the Houthi coup.
The Prime Minister listened to reports from the Chief of Staff and heads of departments regarding the status of the armed forces. They provided updates on training, readiness, and operational capabilities at both tactical and strategic levels. The officials expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s attention and commitment to monitoring the military institution’s conditions.
Dr. Ali Atbosh, Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, also attended the meeting.
This meeting underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster military readiness and address the challenges posed by the Houthi militias, ensuring the safety and security of Yemen and its people.
