On Tuesday, a tragic incident unfolded in the villages of the Salah district, southeast of Taiz province, where Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, launched a deadly shelling attack. This assault resulted in the death of an elderly woman and left a young girl with severe injuries.
Medical sources reported to “September Net” that 60-year-old Jaleela Qaid Abdullah Ghaleb lost her life in the village of Al-Aqiyous. The shelling, which originated from Houthi positions in the Khadir district, also critically injured 13-year-old Rahaf Raed Abdulhakim. Following the attack, emergency responders transported Rahaf to a hospital in Taiz for urgent medical care.
Since their coup against the legitimate government, the Houthis have consistently targeted residential neighborhoods and villages in Taiz. This ongoing violence has resulted in numerous civilian casualties, particularly among women and children. Such actions represent a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
The situation in Taiz remains dire as the conflict continues to affect innocent lives. The international community must address these violations to protect vulnerable populations in the region.
