The Prime Minister discusses with the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament the developments of Houthi escalation and state cohesion.

Prime Minister Reviews Houthi Escalation with Deputy Speaker of Parliament

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr. Sha’if Mohsen Al-Zandani met in the temporary capital of Aden with Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohammed Al-Shaddadi. They discussed the serious military escalation led by the Houthi terrorist militia and the coordination between the executive and legislative branches to unify the national stance and strengthen the cohesion of state institutions in response to current developments.

Discussion on Houthi Violations and Humanitarian Support

The meeting addressed the Houthi violations against civilians and displaced persons. Both officials emphasized the need to convey the truth about these violations to the international community and hold it accountable for these crimes. They also prioritized supporting the front lines, caring for the displaced and affected individuals, and enhancing stability in liberated areas. This support aims to restore initiative and assert state authority over all Yemeni territories.

Houthi Threats to National and Regional Security

Prime Minister Al-Zandani stressed that the Houthi escalation has evolved beyond an internal military issue. He described it as a comprehensive threat to national and regional security, particularly due to systematic Iranian support for the militia. This support has transformed Yemeni land and waters into a platform for threatening regional security and international interests.

Connection Between Houthi Attacks and Regional Stability

The Prime Minister pointed out that the repeated terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi Arabian territory using missiles and drones, which target civilian sites and vital installations, cannot be separated from the military escalation on the western coast. He characterized these actions as part of an Iranian-backed destructive project that extends beyond targeting the Yemeni people to threatening the security of neighboring countries and regional and international interests.

Call for National Cohesion and Institutional Integration

Al-Zandani affirmed that the current phase requires the highest levels of national cohesion and the integration of state institutions’ roles. He insisted that the Houthi militia and its regional supporters must not be allowed to impose new realities at the expense of Yemen and the security and stability of the region.

Legislative Support for Government Efforts

For his part, Deputy Speaker Al-Shaddadi confirmed the legislative institution’s support for the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the armed forces. He emphasized the importance of national unity and the integration of state institutions’ efforts to confront current challenges.
