Yemeni Parliament Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni Parliament has strongly condemned the provocative and blatant attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias on cities and civilian targets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These assaults have instilled fear among residents and expatriates alike.

Concerns Over Recent Attacks

In a statement issued today, the Parliament expressed deep concern over the terrorist acts carried out by the Houthi militias across various Saudi cities. These attacks have not only endangered the safety of civilians but also damaged properties and facilities. The Parliament highlighted the alarming extent of these aggressions, which have even targeted the sanctity of Mecca, the holiest site for Muslims and a symbol of faith.

Denunciation of Terrorism

The Parliament unequivocally denounced these heinous crimes and the terrorist actions executed by the Houthi militias. The statement emphasized that targeting the sanctity of holy lands represents a blatant violation of religious and humanitarian values, as well as a direct threat to the safety of worshippers.

A Call for Protection of Sacred Sites

The statement read, “The Parliament condemns this blatant and provocative attack, which can only be interpreted as a deliberate and premeditated assault on the sanctity of Islamic holy sites. Any attack on Mecca or infringement upon its sanctity crosses all red lines and constitutes an affront to the most sacred places for Muslims, provoking their sentiments worldwide.”

Acknowledgment of Saudi Arabia’s Efforts

The Parliament praised Saudi Arabia for its efficiency and capability in safeguarding its security and the sanctity of Muslim holy sites. It reaffirmed its full support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to maintain its security, stability, and territorial integrity. The statement noted that the security of Saudi Arabia is intrinsically linked to the security of Yemen and the stability of the region. The Parliament asserted that protecting Saudi sovereignty is a firm stance that will not be compromised or negotiated.
