On Tuesday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened a meeting at the Maasheeq Palace in the temporary capital of Aden. The meeting focused on addressing Yemen’s economic and humanitarian crises and included key government officials.

Additionally, they reviewed the government’s reform agenda and the necessary measures to enhance state revenue and increase interventions aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities and shipping vessels.
The meeting also included reports on the activities of the crisis management committee over the past period. Members presented plans to address various challenges and obligations facing the government.
President Alimi emphasized the importance of implementing measures to improve public financial management and monetary policy. He called for strict oversight of service prices and essential goods to ensure stability.
Furthermore, President Alimi urged the crisis management committee to expedite sector-specific actions. He highlighted the need for the government to meet its critical obligations, particularly in paying employee salaries and ensuring the continuity of vital services, especially electricity.
This meeting underscores the government’s commitment to tackling Yemen’s pressing economic and humanitarian challenges while striving for stability and recovery in the region.
