President Donald Trump stated that Iran has not yet reached a stage where it is prepared to sign an agreement with the United States. He emphasized that military options are available, with munitions ready for a significant strike if necessary. However, he expressed hope that the situation will not escalate to the point of requiring a large-scale military attack.
Trump outlined two primary options for Washington: either continue strikes to dismantle Iran’s capabilities or negotiate a deal. He confirmed that the U.S. is currently in talks with Iranian officials, noting that Iran no longer possesses effective naval forces, radar stations, or air defenses.
He remarked, “Iranians need to take this matter more seriously… munitions are ready for a major strike against Iran.” Trump suggested that Iran might either surrender or hide in deep underground facilities. He clarified that the ongoing discussions are the most serious compared to previous years, but he stressed that this does not guarantee a final outcome.
Trump also addressed the positions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, who assured him that they are not supplying weapons to Iran. This stance reflects the complex international relations and challenges surrounding negotiations with Iran.
The U.S. President clarified that his administration has not yet made a final decision regarding large-scale military strikes against Iran. He noted that “almost everyone” is involved in the American team participating in the talks, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
In related comments, Trump stated that he is not in a rush to reach an agreement before the midterm elections in November. He added, “We must do this right,” highlighting a focus on achieving effective results rather than making hasty decisions.
