The Organization of Islamic Cooperation welcomes Macron’s statements on halting arms exports to the occupying forces.

OIC Welcomes Macron's Call to Halt Arms Exports to Israel

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its support for French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent statements urging a halt to arms exports to Israel, which he referred to as an “occupying power.” Macron emphasized the need for a political solution to the ongoing conflict, aligning his remarks with international humanitarian law, the legal opinions of the International Court of Justice, and relevant United Nations resolutions.

Support for Palestinian Statehood

In addition to welcoming Macron’s comments, the OIC called on the French Republic to officially recognize the State of Palestine based on the borders established on June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This request reflects the organization’s commitment to the two-state solution and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Concerns Over Military Support for Israel

The OIC highlighted that continued military and financial support for Israel encourages the nation to commit further crimes and violations against the Palestinian people. The organization urged all countries to take necessary actions, including imposing an arms embargo and halting any commercial activities that could harm Palestinians. Furthermore, it called for sanctions against Israel to compel an immediate and comprehensive cessation of its military aggression in Palestine and Lebanon, which threatens regional security and stability.

The OIC’s statements underscore the importance of international cooperation in addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. As global attention focuses on this critical issue, the organization’s position reflects a broader call for justice and peace in the region.
