Minister of Agriculture Discusses FAO Interventions in Yemen

The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Yemen has officially launched a comprehensive database project for sports clubs throughout the country. This initiative includes a detailed plan to visit youth offices in various provinces to assess their operations and explain the project’s significance in developing future plans and programs.

Importance of the Database Project

During the launch event at the Youth and Sports Office in Aden, Khalid Mohsen Al-Khalifi, the Deputy Minister of Sports and Head of the Committee, emphasized the project’s importance. He stated that the database will serve as a vital tool for gathering and organizing information. Al-Khalifi described this effort as a significant national undertaking aimed at creating a reliable database that can be utilized for future planning and development.

Field Survey for Sports Activities

The sports sector plans to conduct a comprehensive field survey of sports activities across the provinces. This survey will involve collaboration with various sports federation branches. Al-Khalifi highlighted the necessity of collecting accurate data, as it will be crucial for evaluating the current state of these federations and formulating strategies to enhance athletic performance in the future.

Addressing Key Issues with Data

Farhan Thabit Al-Muntasir, Director General of the General Administration of Federations and Clubs, outlined the essential data that the project will gather. This information will enable decision-makers to address numerous issues effectively, ensuring that all stakeholders’ rights are protected. Al-Muntasir stressed the importance of regular updates to maintain the integrity and relevance of the database.

Reorganizing Sports Management

Wijdan Al-Shadhili, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Aden, expressed optimism about the database project. She noted that it would significantly contribute to reorganizing various aspects related to sports clubs and federations, ultimately leading to improved management and performance.

This initiative marks a crucial step towards enhancing the structure and efficiency of sports management in Yemen, paving the way for future growth and development in the sector.
