A brutal murder has sent shockwaves through Sana’a, the capital currently under Houthi control. The victim, Ahmad Mansour Al-Sultan, fell prey to a horrific crime involving decapitation. This incident marks the second such case in just one month.
The perpetrators committed heinous acts following the murder. They severed the victim’s hand and buried his remains in various locations:
Sources suggest that the motive behind this gruesome act was the theft of the victim’s personal belongings, which included a rifle, a pistol, a phone, and cash.
This incident highlights a troubling rise in security breaches within Houthi-controlled areas. It follows a similar crime in Old Sana’a, where a young man dismembered a woman’s body and buried it in multiple locations.
Experts attribute the increase in such violent crimes to deteriorating economic conditions, rampant drug use, and the absence of law enforcement under militia control. The situation raises serious concerns about public safety and the rule of law in the region.
