Ministry of Industry Launches “Rasd” Electronic Platform to Enhance Consumer Protection

The Ministry of Industry and Trade launched the “Rasd” electronic platform today in the temporary capital of Aden. This new application, available on the Google Play Store, aims to receive complaints and reports from citizens across various liberated provinces. This initiative aligns with the ministry’s efforts to improve oversight tools and strengthen consumer protection.

Strategic Goals for Enhanced Oversight

Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashoul, emphasized that the launch of the platform reflects the ministry’s strategic direction to modernize regulatory mechanisms. The application will expand direct communication channels with citizens, facilitating quicker responses to reports of commercial violations. These violations include unjustified price hikes, manipulation of goods and services, and any practices that undermine consumer rights.

Leveraging Technology for Efficiency

Al-Ashoul noted that adopting modern technological methods for receiving and tracking complaints will enhance institutional performance. This approach ensures immediate access to information and timely legal action, thereby improving field oversight and reducing market violations.

A New Era of Transparency and Accountability

The “Rasd” platform represents a significant advancement in promoting transparency and commercial discipline. It allows citizens to report violations directly through their smartphones. Specialized teams will then follow up on these reports in the field and take necessary legal actions against offenders.

Collaborative Efforts for Market Stability

The Minister reiterated the ministry’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector and commercial and industrial chambers. This partnership aims to achieve supply stability, protect markets, and safeguard consumer rights. Al-Ashoul assured that the ministry will continue to enhance its regulatory framework to meet current demands and build trust between citizens and regulatory institutions.

The launch of the “Rasd” platform marks a pivotal step in improving consumer protection and regulatory efficiency in Yemen.
