On Thursday evening, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, conducted phone calls with the governors of Shabwa, Abyan, and Lahij. His primary aim was to assess the conditions of citizens and to discuss efforts to normalize situations, enhance services, and bolster security and stability in these regions.
During the conversations, President Alimi received brief reports from the governors regarding the actions taken to secure vital facilities and public interests. They highlighted their commitment to safeguarding state resources and preventing any disruptions to public security or services.
President Alimi praised the commendable role of the citizens in Shabwa, Abyan, and Lahij. He recognized their national stance alongside the state and its legitimate institutions. This support plays a crucial role in maintaining order and stability in the region.
The President expressed his confidence in the awareness and national sentiment of the people in these southern provinces. He emphasized their unity with local authorities, which contributes significantly to reinforcing security, stability, and development, while also improving living conditions.
President Alimi reiterated the state’s commitment to a just resolution of the southern issue, acknowledging its historical and social dimensions. He stressed that this resolution should reflect the free will of the people in normal circumstances. In this context, he appreciated the response from Saudi Arabia to host and sponsor the Southern Dialogue Conference, aimed at discussing equitable solutions within the framework of a comprehensive political resolution for the country.
