The Ministry of Defense stated that the armed forces will respond to the Houthi militia’s aggression at the right time and place.

Houthi Militia Launches Attack on Yemeni Armed Forces

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense announced today that the Houthi militia executed a treacherous attack using ballistic missiles and drones. This assault targeted several military camps and units stationed in the Marib and Hadhramaut governorates.

Details of the Attack

In a statement, the Ministry clarified that the attack struck the brave members of the armed forces while they were fulfilling their national duty. These forces work diligently to secure liberated areas and international roads, while also countering the militia’s plans and its smuggling networks. The assault resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several armed forces personnel, all of whom hailed from various provinces across Yemen. This incident underscores the Houthi militia’s ongoing disregard for Yemeni lives.

Commitment to Respond

The Ministry of Defense reaffirmed that the Yemeni armed forces will respond to this aggression at the appropriate time and place. They emphasized that this cowardly attack will not diminish the resolve of the armed forces or hinder their ability to perform their national duties. Instead, it will strengthen their determination to defend the republic, restore the state, and end the coup.

Honoring the Fallen

The Ministry expressed its condolences to the families and comrades of the martyrs who fell in this terrorist attack. They also wished a swift recovery to the injured. The Ministry assured that the blood of the martyrs will not go in vain, and their sacrifices will continue to inspire the armed forces in their fight for the republic and the restoration of the state.

Official Statement

The following is the official statement from the Ministry of Defense regarding the Houthi terrorist attack on military camps:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

At precisely 10:40 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, the Houthi militia launched a treacherous attack using ballistic missiles and drones, targeting several military camps and units in Marib and Hadhramaut.

This attack targeted our brave armed forces during their national duty to secure liberated areas and international roads, while countering the militia’s plans and smuggling networks. The assault resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several personnel, all of whom are sons of the Yemeni people from various provinces. This crime highlights the Houthi militia’s continued violation of Yemeni blood without distinction.

The Ministry of Defense assures that the Yemeni armed forces will respond to this aggression at the appropriate time and place. This cowardly attack will not weaken the resolve of our heroes nor affect their ability to fulfill their national duties. Instead, it will increase their steadfastness and determination to defend the republic, restore the state, and end the coup.

We mourn the martyrs of the armed forces who fell in this terrorist attack and extend our heartfelt condolences to their families and comrades. We wish a swift recovery to the injured, affirming that the blood of the martyrs will not go in vain. Their sacrifices will remain a source of strength and determination for our armed forces in the battle to defend the republic and restore the state.

May Allah have mercy on the martyrs, grant healing to the injured, and protect our brave armed forces stationed in the fields of honor and heroism.”
