On Tuesday, Yemen’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri, met with his Turkish counterpart, Osman Askin Bak, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations in the fields of youth and sports. The meeting took place during the Eighth Traditional Sports Forum held in Antalya, Turkey.
During their discussions, the ministers explored ways to leverage Turkish expertise to support Yemen’s youth and sports development. Both parties expressed a strong interest in creating a framework for collaboration that would benefit both nations.
The two ministers agreed to draft a joint cooperation protocol. This protocol will include a range of programs focusing on training and rehabilitation, sports medicine, youth capacity building, technical consulting, and sports infrastructure projects. These initiatives aim to elevate the standards of sports in Yemen and empower its youth.
Minister Al-Bakri praised the strong, brotherly relations between Yemen and Turkey. He acknowledged Turkey’s ongoing support for the Yemeni people across various sectors. Al-Bakri emphasized the ministry’s desire to expand cooperation with Turkey, particularly in training and developing youth, enhancing the skills of professionals in sports medicine, and improving the overall quality of sports in Yemen.
The meeting also included the presence of Yemen’s Ambassador to Turkey, Mohammed Saleh Tareq, and Ayman Al-Makhlafi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for Financial and Administrative Affairs.
This collaboration marks a significant step towards fostering a robust partnership between Yemen and Turkey, aiming to uplift the youth and sports sectors in both countries.
