In a meeting held today in the temporary capital of Aden, Minister of Public Works and Roads, Engineer Salem Al-Huraizi, engaged with the leadership of the Public Works Project and the Social Development Fund. The discussion focused on the progress of development projects in the governorates of Aden, Al-Mahrah, and the Socotra Archipelago, emphasizing coordination with local authorities.
During the meeting, which included the Director of the Second Main Area of the Public Works Project, Engineer Hassan Al-Habishi, Minister Al-Huraizi highlighted the importance of fairly distributing projects across all governorates. He stressed prioritizing areas affected by hurricanes and climate change. The Minister specifically called for urgent projects in Aden, particularly regarding the construction of sidewalks within neighborhoods to mitigate damage from rainwater.
Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahrah, Salem Nimer, praised the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works, the Public Works Project, and the Social Development Fund. He emphasized the need for additional interventions, especially in the Al-Hosn district, which suffered significant infrastructure damage due to Cyclone “Tej.”
Engineer Foad Taher, Director of the Social Development Fund branch in Aden, reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing partnership and coordination with the Ministry. He expressed determination to implement more development projects in the liberated governorates, despite current challenges.
This meeting underscores the ongoing efforts to address infrastructure needs and promote development in Yemen’s affected regions.
