Today, Yemen’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mohammed Al-Faqmi, met with Catherine Gramegon, the French Ambassador to Yemen. The meeting focused on enhancing and developing bilateral cooperation between Yemen and France across various sectors.
During the meeting, which marked the conclusion of Gramegon’s tenure as ambassador, both parties reviewed France’s support for Yemen in critical areas such as education, health, food security, and institutional capacity building. They explored ways to strengthen this support in alignment with the Yemeni government’s priorities and current developments.
The discussion also included opportunities for joint coordination with regional and international partners. They examined potential funding avenues for developmental projects and programs. Additionally, they addressed updates on the preparation of the National Development and Economic Recovery Plan, which the Yemeni government is developing in consultation with relevant ministries, provinces, and stakeholders.
Minister Al-Faqmi commended Ambassador Gramegon’s efforts in enhancing bilateral relations between Yemen and France. He expressed his hope for continued development of these relations and expansion of cooperation in the coming phase. He emphasized that such efforts would significantly contribute to supporting Yemen’s development and economic recovery. Al-Faqmi wished her success in her future endeavors.
In response, Ambassador Gramegon reaffirmed France’s commitment to supporting Yemen. She emphasized that France will remain a steadfast friend to Yemen and its people. Gramegon expressed her dedication to maintaining strong relations and cooperation between the two countries.
