On Thursday morning, the Houthi militia launched a series of aggressive attacks targeting coastal districts under the control of the Yemeni government in the provinces of Al-Hudaydah and Taiz. The militia employed ballistic missiles, drones, and artillery shells, marking a significant escalation aimed at civilian areas and densely populated neighborhoods.

Details of the Attacks

The Armed Forces’ media center reported that the militia fired 14 ballistic missiles at the western coastal districts of Taiz and Al-Hudaydah. This assault coincided with intensified drone strikes. Fortunately, the missiles did not impact the operational battlefield for the stationed forces along the western coast.

Additionally, the media center highlighted that air defense systems successfully intercepted several drones in the Taiz front and the skies over the coastal districts. This interception forms part of ongoing efforts to counter the militia’s relentless attacks.

Targeting Civilians

The National Resistance Brigades’ military media reported that the Houthi militia targeted the coastal village of Al-Haimah in the Al-Tuhayta district with five mortar shells. Simultaneously, they struck eastern Hays with a suicide drone, causing panic among local residents.

Local sources also reported a missile landing in agricultural land in the Al-Karabda area of the Maqbana district in western Taiz. Fortunately, this incident did not result in any human or material losses.

Continued Missile Strikes

Other sources confirmed that the militia launched a series of ballistic missile attacks towards targeted cities in Taiz and Al-Hudaydah from their positions in the provinces of Taiz and Ibb.

On Wednesday, the Houthi militia targeted a popular market near displacement sites in the rural area of Al-Mawza in western Taiz with two ballistic missiles. This attack caused material damage to a workshop that was fortunately unoccupied at the time, but it instilled widespread fear among citizens and displaced individuals.

Impact on Urban Areas

In the city of Taiz, artillery shells fired by the militia struck residential neighborhoods around Mount Jara and Wadi Al-Qadi in the northern part of the city, resulting in material damage.

The ongoing violence highlights the precarious situation in Yemen, where civilian areas remain vulnerable to military actions. The international community continues to call for a ceasefire and a return to negotiations to end the conflict.
