ADEN, Yemen – Today, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, convened a significant meeting in the temporary capital of Aden. The gathering focused on the tourism sector’s action plan for the second half of 2025.
During the meeting, attended by ministry deputies Jaafar Abubakr, Obaid Mohammed Al-Hatha, and Hussein Al-Sakab, Minister Al-Eryani conveyed greetings from President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and Prime Minister Salem Bin Brek. He emphasized their unwavering support for the tourism sector and its vital developmental role.
Al-Eryani stated that the meeting aligns with ongoing efforts to activate tourism activities in liberated provinces. The goal is to achieve desired outcomes through the implementation of proposed tourism policies, activities, and executive measures.
The minister highlighted the necessity of diligent and intensive work to execute an ambitious plan that meets current demands while respecting the unique context of national tourism. He pointed out the importance of leveraging available resources and opportunities in liberated provinces to enhance the cultural and tourism sectors, thereby promoting Yemen’s identity.
Al-Eryani urged the swift preparation of an urgent plan that outlines key priorities and actionable programs for the near term. He stressed the need to focus on practical results rather than theoretical proposals. Additionally, he called for the rapid organization of various tourism events and activities across several liberated provinces, in coordination with local authorities. These events play a crucial role in revitalizing the tourism sector and promoting local products.
The meeting approved several tourism activities across various provinces. These include training courses in tourism-related fields that will create job opportunities for youth, as well as the publication of books related to tourism and cultural heritage.
Furthermore, the meeting initiated procedures for the classification of hotels in Aden. This effort is part of a broader plan to rehabilitate and develop the province’s tourism infrastructure. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of hotel facilities will ensure quality service for guests and tourists arriving from both local and international destinations.
The meeting marks a significant step toward revitalizing Yemen’s tourism sector, emphasizing government commitment and community involvement. With a clear action plan in place, the ministry aims to foster a thriving tourism environment that benefits both the economy and the cultural identity of Yemen.
