The Minister of Information condemns Houthi attacks on civilian areas aimed at misleading public opinion.
Yemeni Minister Condemns Houthi Attacks on Civilian Areas

Yemen’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, has strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s recent attacks on populated civilian areas in the capital, Sana’a, and surrounding regions. These assaults also targeted several cities under the militia’s control. Al-Eryani criticized the militia for attempting to blame these attacks on American forces.
Criminal Acts Aimed at Civilians
In a recent press statement, Al-Eryani described these criminal actions as part of a calculated plan designed to inflict civilian casualties. He emphasized that the goal is to provoke public outrage both locally and internationally, thereby undermining the ongoing military operations against the militia. Despite these claims, Al-Eryani pointed out that the facts reveal the falsehood of such allegations.
Evidence of Houthi Responsibility
Al-Eryani highlighted that citizens captured video evidence over the past two days, documenting the launch of a missile from within Sana’a before it crashed in one of the city’s neighborhoods. Additionally, footage from the site of another missile crash in Al-Mahwit displayed crude Arabic writing on the missile. Images from a missile impact site in the Al-Dama cemetery indicated that the damage and crater size did not align with the characteristics of advanced American munitions, suggesting that the Houthis used smaller explosive warheads.
Houthi Violations and Civilian Safety
The minister reiterated that these actions add to the Houthis’ extensive record of violations and crimes. He expressed concern over the militia’s blatant disregard for civilian lives, using them in misleading propaganda campaigns. These tactics aim to distract from the escalating crises the militia faces due to intensified military pressure and growing internal and external isolation.
Accountability for Houthi Crimes
Al-Eryani held the Houthi militia fully accountable for these deliberate crimes against civilians. He characterized their actions as a dangerous escalation that reveals the extent of the militia’s confusion and collapse in the face of significant military setbacks and increasing public rejection of their Iranian-backed sectarian agenda.
Call for Justice and Media Responsibility
In conclusion, Al-Eryani asserted that these crimes will not go unpunished and that justice will reach all individuals involved, including militia leaders and operatives. He urged media outlets to exercise caution and avoid falling for the misleading Houthi narrative, which aims to obscure the truth and confuse the public.
