Yemen’s Leadership Unites for National Defense

Today, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani, alongside Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Saghir Bin Aziz, convened a significant meeting. This gathering included heads of various military bodies, leaders from the third, sixth, and seventh military zones, as well as directors and advisors to the Chief of General Staff.

Acknowledgment of Sacrifices

During the meeting, Al-Eryani conveyed greetings from President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and other members of the Presidential Leadership Council. He expressed their deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by those stationed on the frontlines, defending the nation’s honor and dignity.

Al-Eryani stated, “I am honored by the President’s request to meet with you. I stand before you not to speak of courage, as you embody it, nor of sacrifice, as you are its champions.” He emphasized that the heroes of the National Army represent hope for the country and serve as its strong shield against tyranny and Iranian influence.

The National Army: A Symbol of Unity

The Minister praised the Chief of General Staff and military leaders for demonstrating that the Yemeni Army is not merely a military institution. Instead, it embodies a national ideology and carries the vision of a modern Yemeni state against the Houthi militia, which has abandoned all notions of patriotism. He described the Houthis as a poisoned dagger in Yemen’s side, acting as a tool for the Iranian regime.

Al-Eryani highlighted the immense sacrifices made by the military, noting that their bravery and commitment would be honored in the annals of history.

A Call to Action for the National Army

Addressing the National Army, Al-Eryani reassured them, saying, “You are not alone; the people stand behind you. The future depends on your steadfastness. Victory lies in your hands, and there is no room for retreat. We have no option but to reclaim Yemen; there are no compromises or gray solutions—it’s either we are or we are not.”

Houthi Militia: A Recognized Terrorist Group

Al-Eryani pointed out that the Houthi militia is no longer just a local threat; it has been officially classified as a terrorist group by several nations and organizations. This classification carries significant implications, as it means the militia will never gain legitimacy, and its leaders face legal repercussions, including asset freezes and sanctions.

He stated, “These militias have become isolated and marginalized, with no future in Yemen. Their project is doomed to collapse, just like other terrorist and sectarian movements elsewhere.”

Current Weakness of the Houthi Militia

The Minister noted that the Houthi militia is currently at its weakest, both domestically and internationally. He attributed this decline to the loss of regional support, particularly as Hezbollah faces exhaustion and isolation. Despite Iran’s continued support, including weapons and expertise, it seeks to lift sanctions and invest in the U.S. and the West.

Al-Eryani emphasized that the Houthis’ false narratives have crumbled, leaving them exposed and waiting for the moment of their downfall. He urged the need to leverage the shift in international sentiment, asserting that the struggle is not only national but also part of a global fight against terrorism and extremism.

A Unified Front for Yemen’s Future

Al-Eryani called on all national leaders, intellectuals, media figures, and activists to unite, rise above differences, and prioritize Yemen’s interests. He stressed that the enemy is singular, and our fate is intertwined. Victory will only come through unity, clear intentions, and teamwork. He urged everyone to support this vital national institution and stand firmly behind the state and military leadership during this critical phase.

Support from Military Leadership

In response, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Saghir Bin Aziz welcomed Al-Eryani on behalf of the Ministry of Defense and the armed forces. He expressed gratitude for the Minister’s visits to the troops stationed in strategic areas, including Al-Jawf, Marib, and parts of Shabwa.

Bin Aziz affirmed that the armed forces are fully combat-ready, displaying high morale and discipline. He acknowledged the exceptional circumstances Yemen faces due to the Houthi militia’s departure from national consensus and its reliance on violence over dialogue.

He praised the directives of the President and the Minister of Defense, ensuring that the armed forces maintain high levels of training and readiness to fulfill their missions and restore security and stability in Yemen.

The meeting included several high-ranking officials, such as Major General Khaled Al-Ashwal, Inspector General of the Armed Forces; Major General Ahmed Al-Yafai, Chief of Intelligence; and Major General Abdulaziz Al-Faqih, Chief of Logistics Support, among others. Their presence underscored the commitment to national defense and unity in the face of adversity.
