In a recent meeting held in Geneva, Switzerland, Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashwal, emphasized the need to enhance Yemen’s bilateral relations with the World Trade Organization (WTO). He pointed out the critical barriers that have hindered technical support and capacity building for Yemen from the WTO. Al-Ashwal revealed that the Yemeni government is actively working on ratifying the Trade Facilitation Agreement, which aims to streamline trade processes.

During his discussions with Angela Ellard, Deputy Director-General of the WTO, Al-Ashwal acknowledged the organization’s vital role in providing technical assistance and capacity building for import and export operations.
