Minister of Higher Education Witnesses Cooperation Agreement Signing to Support Education and Research in Yemen

Today, Dr. Amin Noman, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated in a virtual ceremony to sign a cooperation agreement between the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and Najran University in Saudi Arabia. This agreement aims to enhance Yemeni capacities and develop the higher education and research sectors in Yemen.

Key Figures in the Signing Ceremony

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Khudairi, the President of Najran University, signed the agreement on behalf of the university. Meanwhile, Engineer Hassan Al-Attas, the Assistant General Supervisor and Head of Development Projects and Programs Sector, represented the Saudi Program. Dr. Sara Al-Rashoud, a representative from the Saudi Ministry of Education, also attended the event.

Objectives of the Cooperation Agreement

The cooperation agreement focuses on providing accredited training programs through specialized colleges and centers at Najran University. It aims to support research, development, and innovation while enhancing university education and technical training. These initiatives will address the actual needs of the job market and contribute to sustainable development in Yemen.

Acknowledgment of Saudi Support

Minister Noman praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen. He highlighted the vital academic role that Najran University plays in providing scientific and technical support.

Dr. Noman emphasized that this cooperation agreement will pave the way for partnerships between Yemeni universities and their Saudi counterparts across various fields. Such collaborations will enhance the exchange of expertise and knowledge, ultimately supporting comprehensive development efforts in Yemen.
