Progress in Economic Reforms

In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), President Alimi praised the significant progress in economic and financial reforms. The council aims to address existing issues in public revenue collection and ensure the state accesses its sovereign resources to meet its obligations.

Commitment to National Unity

President Alimi reaffirmed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Central Bank to work collaboratively. He emphasized the importance of institutional harmony and mobilizing all resources to support the national effort to restore state institutions. This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Confidence in Government Institutions

The President expressed his confidence in the government and state institutions to overcome current challenges. He sees these challenges as opportunities for self-reliance, particularly in ensuring regular salary payments for employees and sustaining essential services. He also conveyed gratitude for the ongoing support from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in various developmental and humanitarian fields.

Ongoing Support for Reforms

A source from the Presidential Office indicated that President Alimi will continue collaborating with council members to support the government’s and Central Bank’s efforts. They aim to complete a comprehensive reform agenda and build on successes in enhancing trust with the donor community. The President plans to hold meetings with the government, relevant entities, and international stakeholders to share strategies and policies aimed at combating corruption, normalizing conditions in provinces, and building regional and international partnerships. This approach will strengthen national capabilities to counter cross-border threats and restore security, stability, and peace in Yemen and the region.
