On Monday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, convened with the Joint Security and Military Committee. This committee was established following the power transfer announcement.
During the meeting, President Alimi received an update from the committee’s chairman, Major General Haitham Qassem Taher, along with the committee’s deputy and members. They presented a report detailing the committee’s progress, necessary actions to implement its recommendations, and the goal of integrating the armed forces as outlined in the power transfer announcement.
President Alimi commended the committee for its achievements during its operational period. He noted the committee’s dedication to upholding the law, enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces and security, and improving the conditions for personnel at all levels.
Furthermore, the President reiterated the Presidential Leadership Council’s full support for the Joint Security and Military Committee. He emphasized the importance of fulfilling the committee’s tasks as mandated by its formation decision.
The meeting also included the presence of Major General Ahmed Al-Aqeeli, the director of the Supreme Commander’s office, highlighting the importance of this gathering for the future of the nation’s security and military efforts.
This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment of Yemen’s leadership to strengthen national security and military effectiveness, ensuring a unified and capable defense force.
