Al-Hudaydah, Yemen – Today, Dr. Al-Hassan Taher, the Governor of Al-Hudaydah, inaugurated a crucial water project in the Hays district. This initiative will benefit over 40,000 residents and was implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with funding from the German government through the German Development Bank and the European Union.
During the inauguration, which included the attendance of Engineer Mohammed Baheider, the Director of the Water Corporation in the province, and Muthar Al-Qadi, the Director of Hays district, Governor Taher emphasized the project’s significance. He highlighted its role in enhancing the quality of life and providing safe drinking water for the local population.
The project features three artesian wells, a comprehensive solar-powered pumping system, a 4,500-meter-long pumping line, and a storage tank with a capacity of 200,000 liters. Additionally, it includes a tower tank with the same capacity, ensuring a reliable supply of clean water for the community.
This initiative represents a significant step towards sustainable development in the region, addressing the critical need for accessible water resources.
