Al-Dhale’e, Yemen – Today, Governor Ahmed Qa’id Saleh Al-Qubba led a large procession to honor the victims of a tragic explosion caused by leftover explosives from the Houthi militia. This incident occurred in one of the regions of Al-Dhale’e province, resulting in significant civilian casualties.
The funeral witnessed participation from various military, security, and local leaders. A substantial crowd of citizens also attended, expressing their outrage over the ongoing civilian casualties caused by landmines and explosives planted by the Houthi militia in villages, farms, and roads.
Governor Al-Qubba emphasized that the crimes associated with Houthi landmines pose a direct threat to civilian lives. He urged for intensified efforts to clear landmines and rehabilitate affected areas. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of community awareness programs and holding the militia accountable for its continuous violations.
During the ceremony, the governor extended his condolences to the families of the victims. He reassured them that the local authority would continue to support humanitarian programs and field efforts aimed at protecting civilians and reducing the risks associated with war remnants.
The tragic incident underscores the urgent need for action against the dangers posed by leftover explosives in Yemen. The local government remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens while advocating for accountability from the Houthi militia.
