ADEN, Yemen – Today, Abdul Rahman Sheikh, the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, held a virtual meeting with Patrick Simonnet, the European Union Ambassador to Yemen. The two officials explored ways to enhance joint cooperation and support stability efforts in the temporary capital.
During the meeting, Governor Sheikh provided an overview of the general conditions in Aden. He highlighted urgent service challenges and the local authority’s ongoing efforts to bolster security and stability amid the current circumstances. Sheikh emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with international donors. He called for transforming support into tangible developmental and service projects that benefit the citizens. The governor also appreciated the EU’s backing for various developmental initiatives.
In response, Ambassador Patrick Simonnet reaffirmed the European Union’s commitment to supporting stability efforts in Aden. He praised the local authority’s initiatives aimed at normalizing conditions and establishing security in the region.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward fostering a stable environment in Aden, crucial for the region’s development and the well-being of its residents.
