Manama, Bahrain – Dr. Shai Al-Zindani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met today with Tim Lenderking, the U.S. Special Envoy to Yemen. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 20th Regional Security Forum, known as the Manama Dialogue.
During their meeting, Al-Zindani and Lenderking discussed the latest developments in Yemen’s political, security, and economic landscape. They addressed the ongoing violations committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against the Yemeni people.
Al-Zindani emphasized the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve peace and end the ongoing conflict. He pointed out the Houthis’ failure to fulfill their obligations and highlighted their threats to maritime security and international trade in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.
In response, Lenderking reaffirmed the United States’ dedication to supporting efforts aimed at ending the war and achieving peace in Yemen. His remarks underscored the importance of international cooperation in resolving the ongoing crisis.
The meeting also included several key figures, such as Ali Al-Ahmadi, Yemen’s Ambassador to Bahrain, and Adil Sheikh, Deputy Head of the Minister’s Office. Additionally, Alaa Afara, an advisor responsible for the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula affairs, participated in the discussions.
This meeting highlights the ongoing international focus on Yemen as stakeholders seek to navigate the complexities of the conflict and work towards a peaceful resolution.
