Yemeni Foreign Minister Meets with Moroccan Parliament Speaker

During his official visit to Morocco, Dr. Shai’a Al-Zandani, Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, held a meeting with Rachid Talbi Alami, the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives. This meeting underscores the strengthening ties between Yemen and Morocco.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

In the meeting, Dr. Al-Zandani conveyed the greetings of the Yemeni Parliament Speaker to his Moroccan counterpart. He expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and the level of coordination between the legislative institutions of both countries. This collaboration reflects the strong historical bonds shared by the two nations and their peoples.

Update on Yemen’s Situation

Dr. Al-Zandani also provided an update on the current situation in Yemen. He highlighted the Yemeni government’s efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on agreed-upon national, regional, and international references, particularly United Nations Security Council Resolution 2216. He criticized the Houthi militias for their continued obstinacy and rejection of all peace initiatives, which he attributed to questionable external agendas.

Moroccan Support for Peace Efforts

In response, Speaker Rachid Talbi Alami reaffirmed the strength of Yemeni-Moroccan relations. He expressed his desire for increased cooperation and coordination between legislative institutions at all international forums. Alami also emphasized Morocco’s support for all efforts aimed at achieving the peace that the Yemeni people seek, in line with the agreed-upon references.

The meeting included several key figures, such as Yemen’s Ambassador to Morocco, Ezzedine Al-Asbahi, the advisor for Arab affairs, Mohammed Ba’akir, and the Foreign Minister’s private secretary, Salem Ba’afi.

This meeting marks a significant step in fostering diplomatic relations and cooperation between Yemen and Morocco, highlighting their commitment to peace and stability in the region.
