Yemen's Foreign Minister Meets Norwegian Counterpart at Manama Dialogue

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Yemen’s Foreign Minister Dr. Shai’ al-Zindani met with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide today. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 20th Regional Security Conference, known as the Manama Dialogue.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

During their discussion, both ministers focused on enhancing bilateral relations between Yemen and Norway. They explored various strategies to develop these ties, emphasizing mutual interests that benefit both nations. The conversation also covered the current national and regional developments, along with coordinating political stances on shared concerns.

Support for Yemen

Dr. al-Zindani expressed gratitude for Norway’s unwavering support for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government. He highlighted Norway’s contributions to humanitarian efforts in Yemen, acknowledging the significant assistance provided to the Yemeni people.

Norway’s Commitment to Yemen

In response, Minister Eide reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to supporting the Yemeni government. He emphasized Norway’s ongoing humanitarian and developmental assistance and reiterated the country’s dedication to facilitating efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Yemen.

The meeting also included key figures such as Dr. Ali Al-Ahmadi, Yemen’s Ambassador to Bahrain, and Ambassador Adel Sheikh, Deputy Head of the Minister’s Office. Additionally, Advisor Alaa Afara, responsible for the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula affairs, participated in the discussions.

This meeting marks a crucial step in reinforcing the partnership between Yemen and Norway, as both countries strive to address pressing challenges and foster stability in the region.
