Riyadh – Saba News Agency: Today, Dr. Afrah Al-Zuba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with Thomas Schneider, the German Ambassador to Yemen. They discussed the bilateral relations between Yemen and Germany, focusing on ways to enhance cooperation in humanitarian and developmental sectors.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in Yemen and the region. The officials expressed concern over the ongoing military escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi militias, which threaten commercial shipping and international navigation security in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Minister Al-Zuba expressed gratitude for the support provided by the German government in various fields, including development, institutional building, food security, health, water, and education. She emphasized the Yemeni government’s desire to expand this partnership to bolster recovery efforts and improve services.
In response, Ambassador Schneider reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to continue collaborating with Yemen in humanitarian and developmental areas. He highlighted the importance of supporting efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
