Taiz, Yemen – Today, Defense Minister Major General Mohsen Al-Daari convened a significant meeting with Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan. The gathering included local authority members, military and security leaders, members of parliament, and community figures from Taiz.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Daari praised the organization and discipline displayed by the Taiz military axis during a recent military parade. He stressed the importance of unifying efforts and rallying around political and military leadership to restore state institutions. “We must prioritize our nation above all other projects and considerations,” he asserted.
Al-Daari highlighted the need for integrated efforts among military units, security agencies, local authorities, and citizens to tackle challenges and enhance security and stability in the province. He urged attendees to reject rumors that incite chaos and disrupt public peace, which threaten national unity.
The Defense Minister stated, “Yemen cannot recover from its current economic hardships, halted development, and declining basic services without eliminating the Houthi threat that undermines our nation.” He expressed confidence in the political and military leadership’s faith in the armed forces stationed at the frontlines, alongside the support of the Yemeni people to achieve a significant victory.
Minister Al-Daari also appreciated the support from the coalition led by Saudi Arabia for the Yemeni people and their armed forces across various fronts.
In response, Governor Shamsan reaffirmed the community’s backing for the heroes who sacrifice daily in various fronts of Taiz. He emphasized that Taiz will continue to serve as the first line of defense for the republic, as it has for decades.
This meeting underscores the commitment of both military and local leaders to work together in overcoming the challenges facing Taiz and Yemen as a whole.
