Ongoing Pursuit of Justice

President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, emphasized the commitment to justice in the case of martyr Ibtihal Al-Mashhari and other grievances in Taiz Governorate. He stated that the pursuit of justice will follow a comprehensive institutional path, free from political exploitation. The President assured that the state will never compromise on the blood of victims under any circumstances.

Direct Response to Recent Tragedies

During a meeting on Monday at the Maasheeq Palace with Abdul Salam Razaz, head of the reconciliation and community peace committee in Taiz, and committee members, President Alimi highlighted the government’s immediate response to the assassination of martyr Ibtihal Al-Mashhari. He noted that the state has closely monitored the situation alongside local authorities and relevant agencies. The government is committed to enforcing the law and protecting human dignity through direct oversight of security operations, apprehending the perpetrators, and ensuring they face justice. This approach aims to hold accountable anyone found complicit or negligent, preventing the recurrence of such crimes.

Continuous Monitoring for Justice

President Alimi reiterated the government’s ongoing commitment to the cases of martyrs Al-Mashhari and Al-Sufi. He stressed the importance of achieving justice and addressing similar issues with a sense of national responsibility and moral obligation.

Taiz: A Project for Statehood

The President asserted that Taiz represents more than just a security issue; it embodies a project for statehood. He believes that the people of Taiz deserve to see their governorate presented in the best possible light, as a community of production and initiatives rather than chaos and division. He pointed out that the government’s actions are part of a broader initiative to restore Taiz’s rightful status within national recovery plans.

A Call for True Justice

“The true test lies in delivering justice, not merely showcasing images,” President Alimi stated. He emphasized that the blood of martyr Ibtihal and all victims remains a trust that binds everyone until complete justice is achieved. The government will continue down this path to enhance public trust in state institutions.

Elevating Taiz’s Status

President Alimi confirmed the Council’s and the government’s dedication to elevating Taiz to its rightful place by supporting plans in security, development, and services. He aims to transform lessons learned from crises into opportunities for rebuilding state institutions based on justice and equal citizenship.

Encouraging Community Efforts

The President urged the reconciliation and community peace committee to persist in their commendable efforts. He called for continued listening sessions with victims’ families, coordination with security and judicial authorities, and community oversight of plans to disarm public and private facilities.

Building Trust Through Reconciliation

President Alimi noted that the state expects reconciliation activities and civil society organizations to foster a new trust between citizens and government institutions, as well as among local communities. He underscored the importance of strengthening this role as a hallmark of fairness and a means to restore the national fabric, offering hope for a more just and dignified future.

Honoring Sacrifices of Taiz Residents

In this context, President Alimi praised the sacrifices made by the people of Taiz in defending the republican system and their leadership role in restoring state institutions and building peace. He affirmed the Council’s and the government’s commitment to honoring these sacrifices and supporting initiatives that enhance the governorate’s status and fulfill its residents’ aspirations for security, stability, and development.

Future Plans for Taiz

During the meeting, President Alimi listened to updates from the head and members of the reconciliation and community peace committee regarding their recent activities and future work programs. These plans include comprehensive approaches to the situation in Taiz and the expected role of the state and all national forces in addressing challenges and fulfilling obligations to citizens.

Conclusion

The meeting included the presence of Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, Director of the Office of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing Taiz and ensuring a brighter future for its residents.
