The Civil Service Office in Marib forms a committee to verify 764 files of dual employees and retirees.

Formation of a Committee to Address Duplicate Employment Records in Marib

The Civil Service and Social Security Office in Marib has established a committee of human resources directors to review and address potential cases of duplicate employment among staff and retirees. This initiative follows a meeting held today, where officials discussed the need to ensure compliance with the Ministry’s directives regarding 764 employee and retiree files that exhibit similar names and may indicate double employment.

Ministry Directive and Identified Cases

Soud Al-Yousifi, the Director General of the Civil Service and Social Security Office in Marib, explained that the office received a directive from the Ministry. This directive includes lists of individuals suspected of holding multiple jobs, which fall under three specific categories. These categories involve:

  1. Holding multiple salaries from permanent or temporary positions within the state’s administrative apparatus, including central and local government, public and mixed sectors, judicial authorities, defense, and security sectors.
  2. Receiving both a salary from a permanent or temporary position and a pension.
  3. Collecting multiple pensions from different retirement funds.

Committee’s Responsibilities and Process

The newly formed committee will gather and complete data on employees who may be holding dual positions. For those identified as having duplicate employment, the committee will provide a specially designed data form. This form will require targeted individuals to fill in specific fields and submit their complete employment documents. After the committee reviews and approves each employee’s file, it will be forwarded to the Ministry of Civil Service and Social Security in the temporary capital, Aden, for further processing and necessary legal actions.

Urgent Call for Employee Cooperation

Al-Yousifi urged both civilian and military employees, as well as security personnel suspected of holding multiple jobs, to promptly complete their data submissions. He emphasized the importance of this action to avoid being removed from the central database. Employees should quickly approach the committee at the Civil Service and Social Security Office in Marib to ensure compliance.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the Civil Service and Social Security Office to maintain transparency and integrity within the employment system in Marib, addressing issues of potential fraud in public service roles.
