President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, has issued a stern warning to the Houthi militias regarding their ongoing escalation and reckless actions that jeopardize the interests of the Yemeni people. He emphasized that their destructive approach will only lead to further depletion of the country’s resources and will not alter the Yemeni people’s resolve to end the coup and restore state institutions.
In a series of posts on the social media platform X, President Alimi reaffirmed the Yemeni government’s commitment to working closely with the Coalition to Support Legitimacy and international partners. He stressed the importance of a firm response to threats, the protection of maritime routes, and the fight against terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime. This commitment reflects a national responsibility and a steadfast dedication to the security of Yemen and the region, as well as to maintaining international peace and security.
President Alimi pointed out that the Houthi militias and their supporters consistently escalate tensions whenever opportunities for de-escalation arise. He noted that they ignore the Yemeni people’s aspirations for a state characterized by dignity, security, and stability. He asserted that these aspirations are not bargaining chips and will not be treated as such.
The President warned that the Houthi group’s continued aggressive tactics will only prolong the suffering of the Yemeni people and squander the remaining resources of the country. He reiterated that the Yemeni people remain committed to restoring state institutions and asserting their authority across the entire national territory. The only option left for the militias is to acknowledge these undeniable truths.
