President Alimi Holds Extensive Consultations on Taiz Situation
On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, conducted extensive consultations regarding the developments in Taiz Governorate. He received updates from Council members, including Lieutenant General Abdulrahman Al-Mahrimi, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Sobaihi, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, and various military and security leaders in the governorate. They discussed the current situation across different fronts and the measures taken to address the attacks and infiltration attempts by the Houthi militia in recent hours.
Military Operations and Readiness
President Alimi listened to briefings on the progress of military operations and the readiness of units stationed at various fronts. He reviewed the steps taken to secure roads and supply lines, as well as efforts to counter the militia’s attempts to achieve field breakthroughs. The discussions also covered the human and material losses the militia has suffered due to confrontations and targeted strikes on their positions and reinforcements across the fronts.
Acknowledgment of Armed Forces’ Bravery
The President praised the exceptional bravery displayed by the armed forces, all military formations, and popular resistance in Taiz. He emphasized that the ongoing situation on the ground reaffirms the armed forces’ readiness and capability to thwart the militia’s plans while steadfastly fulfilling their constitutional and national duty to protect citizens and restore state institutions.
Houthi Psychological Warfare
President Alimi stated that the Houthi militia, following their repeated failures and significant losses in combat, attempts to compensate for their field shortcomings through extensive psychological warfare. They aim to mislead citizens, spread rumors, and create panic by exploiting their control over communication networks. He asserted that these tactics will not alter the realities on the ground or diminish the morale of the Yemeni people and their armed forces. He stressed that the state understands the nature of this psychological warfare and its tools, and that its military and security institutions will address it responsibly and effectively.
Security Measures and Counteractions
The President directed the isolation of infiltrating elements, securing vital areas, roads, and facilities, and implementing all necessary security and technical measures to thwart the militia’s attempts to use communication means for their destructive activities or to spread rumors and incite fear among citizens. He emphasized the need to respond firmly to any activities targeting the internal front or attempting to affect the security and public tranquility of the governorate.
Assessing Militia Losses
President Alimi noted that the scale of losses incurred by the militia, along with the precise strikes on their positions and military capabilities, reveals the disparity between the propaganda they attempt to project and their actual situation on the battlefield. He assured that the armed forces would continue to perform their duties according to the planned strategies and operations.
Commitment to Ending the Conflict
The President remarked, “The militias initiated this war and chose escalation as their path. However, our armed forces, backed by our people’s will and the support of our brothers, will bring it to an end, fulfilling the aspirations of Yemenis to restore their state, security, freedom, and dignity.” He added that operations would proceed as planned, with determination and responsibility, aiming to restore state institutions and the capital, Sana’a, ultimately ending the coup and putting a definitive stop to the cycle of war and suffering created by the terrorist militias with support from the Iranian regime.
Support for Taiz Residents
President Alimi commended the resilience of the people of Taiz and their support for state institutions and armed forces, highlighting their sacrifices in defense of the republican system. He affirmed that Taiz has been and will remain one of the great national strongholds, and attempts to subdue or break its will will fail, just as they have in the past.
Call to Citizens Under Militia Control
The President urged citizens in areas under militia control to resist falling for propaganda campaigns and misinformation. He advised them not to allow their children to be drawn into futile attacks. He reiterated the state’s commitment to the initiative for safe return and welcomed all who choose to align with the republic and its national institutions.
