The Chairman of the Leadership Council meets with leaders of the National Coalition of political parties and components.

President Alimi Meets National Political Coalition Leaders
On Thursday, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, convened with coalition leaders from the National Political Coalition, led by Dr. Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghr, Chairman of the Shura Council. The meeting focused on recent local developments and the role of national forces in supporting comprehensive reforms.
Economic Reforms and Currency Stability
President Alimi emphasized that the recent improvement in the national currency’s exchange rate resulted from the harmonious collaboration among state institutions. He highlighted the effective implementation of the economic recovery plan as a crucial factor in this progress.
The President pointed out that the committees responsible for organizing revenues and payments played a significant role in this positive change. He acknowledged the contributions of all parties involved in this vital transformation, stating that restoring trust requires difficult but necessary decisions.
Ongoing Challenges and Future Goals
“This improvement is just the first step,” President Alimi remarked. He noted that the government and the Central Bank still face substantial work ahead to safeguard reforms and alleviate burdens on citizens across all provinces.
In this context, the President stated that the Council and the government are coordinating with allies to enhance the reform process and regain international community trust. This is particularly important for increasing developmental interventions and humanitarian aid for the Yemeni people.
Building Trust Through Action
Alimi stressed that restoring trust with all stakeholders cannot rely solely on calls for action but must be based on tangible results, improved performance, transparency in decision-making, and accountability.
He urged political and community forces to support the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in achieving major national objectives. This includes backing comprehensive economic reforms and strengthening the legal standing of the state in the temporary capital, Aden, and other provinces.
A Call for Unity Among Political Parties
The President expressed hope that political parties would actively participate in advancing upcoming national priorities with a unified team spirit that transcends narrow interests, placing Yemen above all else.
Addressing Local Issues and Security Developments
President Alimi informed political leaders about the Council’s and government’s efforts to address the situation in Hadhramaut, emphasizing this as a constitutional and legal obligation. He also discussed recent security and military successes in various provinces, including the discovery of terrorist cells linked to Houthi militias and the interception of weapons and smuggled materials.
Engaging with Political Coalition Insights
During the meeting, President Alimi and Council member Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani listened to a brief presentation from the National Political Coalition leaders. This presentation covered the outcomes of their recent meetings, their vision for addressing political and economic changes, and strategies to alleviate humanitarian suffering while fostering a broad national partnership to manage the transitional phase in the country.
