Meeting in Aden Focuses on Combating Smuggling Crimes

A crucial meeting took place today in Aden, the temporary capital of Yemen, led by Attorney General Qaher Mustafa. The gathering aimed to enhance coordination and collaboration between the Public Prosecution and relevant authorities to combat various smuggling crimes, including customs violations, trafficking of goods and antiquities, gold smuggling, drug trafficking, and the illegal trade of military and dual-use equipment.

The meeting included prominent figures such as First Public Prosecutor Fawzi Saif, Attorney General for Public Funds Nabil Jobah, Head of the Public Funds Prosecution Abdullah Salem, and representatives from tax and customs prosecution offices, as well as the Anti-Corruption Prosecution. Additionally, the Head of Customs Authority Abdulhakim Al-Qabati participated, along with other relevant stakeholders.

During the discussions, the Attorney General emphasized the necessity of documenting incidents and summoning the Public Prosecution to secure evidence. He stressed that the Public Prosecution holds the exclusive authority to manage seized items according to the law, underscoring the importance of not handing over these items to any other entity.
