In a heartfelt tribute, President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, has directed the establishment of official mourning procedures following the passing of prominent activist Ali Salem Al-Baidh, former Vice President of the Presidential Council.
A source from the Presidential Office confirmed that the President’s directives include sending a high-ranking official delegation. This team will represent President Alimi, the Presidential Leadership Council, and the government to express condolences to Al-Baidh’s family. Additionally, the government will open condolence registers both domestically and through embassies and diplomatic missions abroad.
The source further noted that the directives also encompass the transportation of Al-Baidh’s remains. His burial will take place with official ceremonies in his hometown of Hadhramaut, in accordance with his wishes and in a manner befitting his political and national stature.
In a phone call to Al-Baidh’s family, President Alimi, along with members of the council and government, extended heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies. He praised Al-Baidh’s remarkable contributions and significant political impact during pivotal moments in the nation’s history.
