The Armed Forces, supported by the National Resistance and the Giants Brigades, seized control of Al-Mokha city in western Taiz Governorate on Monday. This victory followed intense battles against Houthi militias, which the Iranian regime supports.
A military source informed the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the forces, with air support, successfully took over Al-Mokha after engaging in confrontations with the Houthi militias. The Houthis had maintained control of the city since early September.
The source noted that the clashes occurred in several locations surrounding Al-Mokha. Various types of weapons were utilized during the fighting, resulting in casualties among the Houthi militias. Some militia members were captured, while others fled the area.
The source emphasized that the Armed Forces continue to pursue Houthi elements. They are also clearing and securing the liberated areas, neighborhoods, and facilities from any remaining Houthi pockets.
The Armed Forces persist in their specialized military operations, executing directives from His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Alimi, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. This effort aligns with the launch of “Fajr Yemen” to restore state institutions, liberate the capital Sana’a, and end the Houthi coup.
