Taiz Governor Chairs Security Committee Meeting to Enhance Stability

In a significant move towards bolstering security and stability in the Taiz Governorate, Governor Nabil Shamsan, who also serves as the head of the Security Committee, convened a pivotal meeting in the Al-Shamayatayn District. The gathering aimed to discuss and ratify the initiation of a joint security and military campaign in the district, alongside a series of proposals designed to strengthen the region’s security framework.

Unified Efforts for a Safer District

The meeting saw the participation of key figures, including the Director of Police for the Governorate, Brigadier Mansour Al-Akhali, and other prominent members of the Security Committee. Among them were the commander of the Tor Al-Baha Axis and the Fourth Mountain Infantry Brigade, Major General Abubakr Al-Jubooli, and the commander of the Special Security Forces Branch, Brigadier Jamil Aqlan. Also present was the General Director of the Al-Shamayatayn District, Abdulaziz Al-Shibani, alongside numerous leaders from the security and military units.

Deliberations resulted in several critical decisions, notably the approval of the plan for the joint security and military campaign in the district. The committee also designated the district center, Turbah City, as a weapon-free zone and agreed on the activation of the joint operations room. This strategic move aims to consolidate efforts across various security and military units to maintain and enhance the state of security and stability.

Commendation and Future Directions

Governor Shamsan lauded the security efforts in Al-Shamayatayn, highlighting the successful containment of security situations and the apprehension of cells linked to the Houthi militias, backed by Iran. He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts and utilizing all available resources in the security domain, underscoring it as pivotal for development and stability. Shamsan also emphasized the significance of involving community sectors in the security process to preclude opportunities for the Houthi militias, which threaten the district and the wider governorate.

Ongoing Collaborative Missions

The meeting underscored the continuation of joint tasks between military and security units across the rural districts of Taiz and the northwestern and coastal districts of Lahj. It also included plans for developing and organizing cooperation between these units in executing endorsed tasks, as ratified by the governors of Taiz and Lahj.

Following the meeting, Governor Shamsan, accompanied by members of the security and military committee, inspected several joint checkpoints at the entrances to Turbah City and the main roads connecting it with Lahj Governorate. This inspection underscores the commitment to securing pivotal areas and enhancing safety measures for the residents and the broader community.

This initiative marks a significant step towards achieving lasting peace and stability in the region, reflecting the local government’s dedication to safeguarding its citizens against threats and fostering a secure environment conducive to growth and prosperity.
