A training program aimed at enhancing the skills of customs personnel in the Aden Free Zone concluded recently in the temporary capital of Aden. The Yemen Customs Authority organized this initiative to improve the use of X-ray inspection devices.
The program focused on educating 17 customs employees on the effective and safe operation of portable X-ray machines. Participants learned essential aspects of operating these devices, including how to adjust parameters for optimal imaging while minimizing radiation exposure. Additionally, the training covered specialized inspection techniques to boost efficiency and the preparation of related reports.
The training also highlighted the importance of safety for customs employees. Participants received instruction on using radiation dose measurement devices to ensure the highest levels of personal and professional safety during customs inspections.
Abdulhakim Al-Qabati, the head of the Customs Authority, reiterated the significance of building customs capacity. He emphasized that this training not only protects state interests by facilitating trade flow and ensuring compliance with regulations but also promotes the health and safety of customs personnel.
Mohsen Qahtan, the Director General of the Aden Free Zone Customs, encouraged trainees to apply the knowledge gained from the program. He urged them to enhance customs awareness and vigilance in identifying smuggling activities.
At the conclusion of the training, both Al-Qabati and Qahtan presented certificates of participation to the trainees, recognizing their commitment to professional development.
This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening customs operations in Yemen, ultimately contributing to improved trade security and efficiency.
