In a statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the kingdom welcomed the recent condemnation from the United Nations Security Council regarding the missile attacks launched by Houthi militias against Saudi Arabia since July 13. The statement also addressed the assaults on commercial vessels that began on July 22.

Emphasis on International Law and Sovereignty

Saudi Arabia praised the Security Council’s statement issued on August 7, 2026, which underscored the importance of adhering to international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216. The kingdom emphasized the need to respect Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, independence, and territorial integrity while rejecting actions that threaten regional security and maritime rights.
