The University of Al-Jouf inaugurated its Second Scientific Conference for Students today. The event, organized by the General Administration for Activities and Youth Care, operates under the auspices of the university’s Vice Presidency for Student Affairs. This year’s theme is “Towards a Scientific Vision for Developing Student Creativity.”
The three-day conference aims to stimulate student creativity and support applied and humanitarian scientific research. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the role of youth in building a promising scientific future. The conference serves as a platform for students and academics to exchange experiences and showcases graduation research projects that address local and national development issues.
The conference features 23 scientific papers across two main areas: applied sciences and humanities. These discussions will focus on reinforcing research values and promoting a culture of inquiry. Participants will explore the findings and recommendations of the research, as well as how relevant university departments and local authorities can benefit from them.
During the inauguration, attended by University Secretary Dr. Othman Al-Aradah, General Director of Marib General Hospital Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shadadi, deans of faculties, academics, researchers, and numerous students, Dr. Ali Al-Rimah, Vice President for Student Affairs, emphasized the strategic importance of the conference. He stated that it represents a crucial step in enhancing student participation in shaping academic visions and making developmental decisions within the university and local government.
Dr. Al-Rimah highlighted that this scientific event serves as a dialogue and intellectual platform to amplify student voices. It aims to actively engage students in the educational process and shape their academic futures. This aligns with the university’s goals of fostering institutional values and collaboration between students and academics. The conference provides a genuine space for students to present their creative ideas and youth initiatives, contributing to the development of the university environment and community service.
In his speech, Abdullah Al-Bakri, Deputy Governor of Marib for Administrative Affairs, praised the university’s achievements over a short period. He acknowledged the university’s pivotal role in transforming education and administration in Marib and neighboring provinces.
Al-Bakri emphasized the significance of the scientific event and the research topics discussed, particularly those addressing challenges in the education sector. He assured that the conference’s recommendations and outcomes would guide local authorities in decision-making and program development aimed at institutional improvement and addressing challenges.
Al-Bakri reaffirmed the local government’s ongoing support for the university in fulfilling its noble mission and vital roles in education, research, community service, and the desired development of the province and the nation.
This conference not only highlights the university’s commitment to academic excellence but also reinforces its role as a catalyst for positive change in the region.
